LMDS (Local Multipoint Distribution
System) is a high capacity point to multipoint wireless access
system, which Fonetica operate in the 3.4GHz to 3.6GHz licensed
frequency band. LMDS networks have a cellular structure, each
one of them covered by a Base Station.
Within the coverage area of the Base
Station, subscribers within the cell communicate with the
Base Station using a small antenna which is installed at the
customer premises. These antennas can be used by an individual
subscriber or shared by multiple subscribers, such as in offices
or urbanisations.
For you, the customer, this means that as
long as you can see one of our towers, we can provide you
with our full range of wireless internet and telephony services.
At Fonetica, we have towers currently placed
in Benalmadena (at Castillejo and pictured at the top of the
site) and in Marbella (at Altos de Marbella, behind the Costa
del Sol hospital).
